Liu Ye

Liu Ye (Chinese: 刘烨; pinyin: Líu Yè), born on March 23, 1978, in Jilin, China, is a prominent actor in the film and television industry. His journey began at the age of 20 when he enrolled in the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, showcasing his acting prowess early in his career. Liu gained recognition after being nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 1999 Golden Rooster Awards for his role as a young postman in his debut film, *Postmen in the Mountains*.

After graduating, Liu Ye's career took off as he won the Best Actor award at the 38th Golden Horse Awards for his portrayal of a young gay man in *Lan Yu*. His talent continued to shine, earning him another Best Actor award at the 24th Golden Rooster Awards for his performance in *The Foliage*. His films, including *Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress*, *Purple Butterfly*, and *The Floating Landscape*, have been showcased at various international film festivals, further solidifying his reputation.
