Rufus Collins emerged as a significant figure in the world of experimental theatre during the late 1960s, notably as a member of the acclaimed troupe, The Living Theatre. His journey in performing arts began with an education at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, complemented by a foundation in dance. In 1972, Collins showcased his choreographic talents in Robert Stigwood's U.K. stage adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar, where he briefly collaborated with the iconic Richard O'Brien.
