Erich Fleshman, a Meisner-trained actor hailing from Livermore, California, has crafted a diverse career that blends his passion for performance with a deep love for travel and culture. Initially pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Erich's adventurous spirit led him to Vietnam through a study abroad program, where he immersed himself in the rich languages, cultures, and cinematic traditions of Southeast Asia.
His acting journey began with a role in the HBO film *A Bright Shining Lie*, featuring Bill Paxton, filmed in the scenic jungles of Kanchanaburi, Thailand. A serendipitous encounter on a basketball court with a TV director while teaching at Chulalongkorn University opened new doors, leading to a significant supporting role in a Thai television series. Erich quickly became a prolific figure in the entertainment scene, contributing to American, Asian, and European films, television dramas, and commercials.
In 2002, Erich gained immense popularity in Thailand for his portrayal of Mike in the hit film *Heaven's Seven*, which heralded his rise to celebrity status. He starred in several Thai TV series, including *The Red Roof* (2004) and *Champion Boxer* (2003), solidifying his place in the local industry. His collaborations with acclaimed Thai director Pen-ek Ratanaruang in *Twelve Twenty* (2006) and work alongside noted talents like Paula Taylor and William Hurt further enhanced his reputation.
Transitioning into behind-the-scenes roles, Erich produced and directed documentaries in 2009 and became a sought-after acting and dialect coach, contributing to major films such as *Ip Man 2* (2010) and *Elephant White* (2011). After relocating back to California in 2012, he continued to work on films and commercials, collaborating with independent filmmaker Rob Nilsson.
