Arap Bethke
Ricardo Arap Bethke Galdames, known as Arap Bethke, was born on March 12, 1980, in Nairobi, Kenya. Despite his African birthplace, he identifies as Hispanic due to his upbringing in Mexico, where he developed his passion for acting. He is the son of a German father and a Chilean mother, which adds to his diverse cultural background.
Bethke gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of "Chacho" in the popular telenovela Clase 406. His career continued to flourish with a memorable role in the American series Ugly Betty, where he played Antonio Barreiro, a charming café waiter who becomes involved with Hilda Suarez and her father Ignacio. His notable performances also include roles in Tierra de pasiones and Madre Luna, where he took on the character of Demetrio Aguirre.
In addition, he played a significant part in the Telemundo series Doña Bárbara as Antonio Sandoval. Bethke made guest appearances in the first season of RBD: La Familia, where he portrayed Alvaro, a love interest of Dulce Maria, amidst a cast that included the stars of the hit Latin pop group RBD.
Since relocating to Colombia in 2005, he has continued to evolve as an actor, landing a role in the series Victorinos in 2009. With a career marked by diverse roles and cultural influences, Arap Bethke remains a prominent figure in the Latin entertainment industry.
