Chua Enlai
Chua En Lai is a prominent Singaporean actor renowned for his dynamic performances on stage and television, particularly for his role in the popular Mediacorp Channel 5 sitcom, The Noose. After his contract with Mediacorp ended, he transitioned to explore new opportunities.
Born in Singapore but raised in New Zealand for 12 years, Chua has a diverse cultural background that enriches his artistry. His passion for performance also extends to music, as he has been an active member of the Singapore Armed Forces Choir.
Throughout his career, Chua has participated in over 30 theatre productions, collaborating with esteemed companies such as Wild Rice!, Toy Factory, Spell#7, SRT, TheatreWorks, The Necessary Stage, and Action Theatre. His television fame largely stems from memorable characters, including B.B.See (See Beh Biang) and Jacques Ooi in The Noose. He has also worked closely with acclaimed director Krishen Jit on several notable projects, such as Squeeze & Squeezability, Plunge, and The Visit of the Tai Tai.
In 2011, Chua showcased his versatility by playing a platoon commander in The Ghosts Must Be Crazy, a comedy horror film directed by Mark Lee and Boris Boo. He also made a brief appearance as a police officer in the film Taxi! Taxi!, directed by Kelvin Sng.
As an active member of the Association of Singapore Actors, Chua has expressed a desire to take on more serious roles in recent years. Currently represented by FLY Entertainment, he also serves as an ambassador for HealthHub’s initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to health and wellness in the community.
