Edie Falco
Edith Falco, born on July 5, 1963, is a prominent American actress celebrated for her compelling performances. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Carmela Soprano in HBO's critically acclaimed series The Sopranos, which aired from 1999 to 2007. Additionally, her role as Nurse Jackie Peyton in the Showtime show Nurse Jackie, running from 2009 to 2015, further solidified her status in the industry. Falco also made a mark with her character Diane Whittlesey in the HBO prison drama Oz, which aired from 1997 to 2000.
In 2016, she took on the role of Sylvia Wittel in the web series Horace and Pete. The following year, she played defense attorney Leslie Abramson in the inaugural season of the true crime anthology Law & Order True Crime. Her film career includes notable lead roles in Laws of Gravity (1992), for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Female Lead, and Judy Berlin (1999). She has also appeared in significant supporting roles in films such as Sunshine State (2002), Freedomland (2006), and The Comedian (2016).
