Éric Boullier

Éric Boullier, born on November 9, 1973, in Laval, France, has established himself as a significant presence in the world of motorsport management, especially within Formula 1. He earned his degree from the Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Appliquées, focusing on aeronautics and spacecraft engineering. Boullier commenced his career in the early 2000s at the DAMS racing team, where he held the roles of Managing and Technical Director. His prowess in leadership was further highlighted when he managed the French A1 Grand Prix team, demonstrating his capacity to thrive in the international motorsport arena.

In 2010, Boullier took the helm as Team Principal of Renault F1 Team, which subsequently became known as Lotus F1 Team. During his tenure, the team celebrated significant achievements, securing multiple podium finishes and race victories, thereby solidifying its competitive edge. In 2014, he transitioned to McLaren Racing as Racing Director, where he navigated the team through a particularly challenging phase until his resignation in 2018.
