Marusya Syroechkovskaya, born in 1989 in Moscow, Russia, is an accomplished documentary filmmaker, camerawoman, and producer known for her compelling storytelling and innovative visual style.
Her journey into the realm of documentary filmmaking began at the prestigious School for Documentary Film and Documentary Theatre in Moscow, where she studied under the guidance of notable figures such as Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov in 2008. In 2014, she earned her Master’s degree in Film Directing from the Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow, further honing her craft and artistic vision.
Marusya's dedication to her field is evident through her participation in prominent workshops, including the Flahertiana documentary workshop in Perm, Russia, in 2011. She also expanded her artistic horizons by attending the Picture Berlin summer residency/art academy in Germany in 2014, where she engaged with international peers and explored new creative methodologies.
