Shaun Prendergast
Shaun Prendergast, born in 1958 in North Shields, England, is a distinguished actor and playwright whose talents have graced both stage and radio. His educational journey took him through several institutions, including Collingwood School, Norham High, and Tynemouth Sixth Form College, culminating in a BA Hons from Bretton Hall College. It was during his time as a student that he penned his first play, *Potter's Wheel*, which garnered remarkable acclaim by winning five awards at the 1980 National Student Drama Festival, including Best New Play. This success led to a showcase at the prestigious Old Vic Theatre.
Prendergast’s career flourished as he served as an actor and playwright in residence with the Northumberland Theatre Company, later joining the BBC Radio Drama Company. He co-founded the Renaissance Theatre Company alongside Kenneth Branagh, further solidifying his place in the theatrical world. His contributions to drama have been recognized with several accolades, including a Sony Award, a Writers Guild Award, and a Time Out Award.
In December 2010, Shaun took on the whimsical role of Sarah the Cook in the pantomime *Dick Whittington* at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith, under the direction of Steve Marmion. He resides in London with his wife, Niki Winterson, of Wintersons Talent Management, and is a proud father to his daughter, Molly, and stepson, Domenic.
