Rachel Sophia-Anthony
Rachel Sophia-Anthony, hailing from Hammersmith, London, boasts a rich heritage that blends Caribbean and Central American roots. Recognized for her artistic abilities from a young age, her parents nurtured her passion for dance and the performing arts, leading her to participate in various talent shows. During her time in Grenada, she took part in pageantry, where she proudly represented the island as an ambassador in the Miss Caribbean pageant.
Rachel-Sophia honed her craft further at Joseph Chamberlain College in Birmingham, where she immersed herself in dance and acting workshops. Her television debut came in the 2007 Christmas Special of Doctor Who, sharing the screen with the renowned Kylie Minogue.
Over the years, Rachel-Sophia's career has flourished across commercials, film, and television. Most recently, she appeared in the acclaimed third season of Master of None on Netflix, a project helmed by Emmy and Golden Globe winners Aziz Ansari and Lena Waithe. She also portrayed Lola in the series This Sceptred Isle (This England).
Her diverse body of work includes a speaking role as Joyce in Call the Midwife, a portrayal of Donda West in an upcoming project about Kanye West’s mother, and appearances in Doctors and HBO's Get Mille Black as the Mummy, which is set to air this year. Additionally, she has been featured in a Stand-Up Comedy sketch for ITV2 and has played the roles of Barry White and Rick James’s mother in the Autopsy television series on Reelz.
