Dana Brown, born on December 11, 1959, in Dana Point, California, is a prominent American surfer and filmmaker, following in the footsteps of his father, the legendary filmmaker Bruce Brown. He has carved out a niche in the surfing documentary genre, starting with his 2000 film, *The Endless Summer Revisited*, which featured previously unseen footage and interviews from the iconic films *The Endless Summer* (1964) and *The Endless Summer II* (1994).

In 2003, Dana released his first entirely original film, *Step Into Liquid*, which showcased the diverse world of surfing. He continued to make waves in the documentary realm with *Dust to Glory* (2005), which chronicled the exhilarating Baja 1000 off-road race.

In 2009, he premiered *Highwater*, a film that captured life on the North Shore of Oahu and the intense competition of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, coinciding with the centennial celebration of the Santa Monica Pier.

Most recently, in 2014, Dana expanded the legendary motocross narrative with *On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter*, a follow-up to the acclaimed 1971 documentary *On Any Sunday*, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature.
