Grace Avery VanderWaal, born on January 15, 2004, is an American singer-songwriter and actress celebrated for her unique vocal style and ukulele performances. Her musical journey began in Suffern, New York, where she shared her original songs and covers on YouTube and showcased her talent at local open mic events.

At just 12 years old, VanderWaal gained national recognition by winning the eleventh season of NBC's America's Got Talent in September 2016, impressing audiences with her original compositions. Following her victory, she released her debut EP, *Perfectly Imperfect*, in December 2016 under Columbia Records and Syco Music, which quickly became the best-selling EP of that year. Her first studio album, *Just the Beginning*, was launched in 2017 and debuted at number 22 on the U.S. Billboard 200. She continued to build her discography with the 2019 EP *Letters Vol. 1*.

VanderWaal's live performances have included notable venues such as Madison Square Garden and the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, as well as appearances at major festivals and benefit concerts. Her first concert tour in 2017 supported *Just the Beginning*, and she later toured with Imagine Dragons and Florence and the Machine. In 2020, she made her acting debut in Disney+’s *Stargirl*, followed by the sequel, *Hollywood Stargirl*, in 2022. Her second full-length album, *Childstar*, was released in April 2025, accompanied by the Childstar Tour in May.

Throughout her career, VanderWaal has earned numerous accolades, including two Radio Disney Music Awards, a Teen Choice Award, and recognition on Billboard's 21 Under 21 list five times. She also made history as the youngest individual featured in Forbes' 30 Under 30 music list.
