Sven Nordin, a prominent Norwegian actor, has been a key member of Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo's New Theatre) since 1981, showcasing his versatility across a wide range of theatrical works. His performances span classic plays, including Shakespeare, as well as modern dramas like Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie," and musicals such as "Guys and Dolls."

Nordin's career took off in 1985 when he portrayed a Norwegian resistance fighter in the gripping WWII mini-series "Röd snö," which marked his significant breakthrough. Between 1993 and 1997, he became a household name for his role as Nils in the beloved sitcom "Mot i brøstet," one of Norway's most cherished television comedies, which even inspired a snack named after his character.

In film, Nordin appeared alongside Hollywood legends Robert Mitchum and Cliff Robertson in the 1995 Norwegian production "Pakten." He further showcased his talent in the 2001 TV drama "Shackleton," playing an arctic explorer alongside Kenneth Branagh. That same year, he achieved remarkable success with the film "Elling," where he portrayed the endearing character Kjell-Bjarne. The film captivated over 800,000 viewers in Norway—an impressive feat in a country of just 4.2 million—and became the highest-grossing Norwegian film in Sweden and Denmark.

Nordin's contributions to cinema were recognized in 2002 when he celebrated "Elling’s" Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film alongside his co-stars and production team in Hollywood.
