Kathleen Kennedy Townsend

Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, born on July 4, 1951, is a distinguished American attorney and political figure who made history as Maryland's first female lieutenant governor, holding the position from 1995 to 2003. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, she pursued an ambitious campaign for the governorship of Maryland in 2002, although she was not successful.
