Dr. Kent Hovind
Dr. Kent Hovind embarked on his spiritual journey at the age of sixteen when he accepted Christianity, igniting a passion to dedicate his life to serving Christ. His enthusiasm for mathematics and science led him to pursue a science major at Illinois Central College, where he studied for two years. Feeling a divine calling for full-time ministry, he transferred to Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan, earning his Bachelor of Religious Education degree in 1974.
For a significant period spanning fifteen years, Hovind taught high school math and science while simultaneously completing a master's degree in education. During his academic pursuits, he focused his doctoral dissertation on the contentious topic of creation versus evolution. This research revealed to him the urgent necessity of challenging the prevalent evolutionary narrative, which he viewed as a perilous ideology, while equipping Christians with robust scientific arguments that harmonize with biblical teachings.
Following the attainment of his Ph.D. in religious education, Dr. Hovind established a full-time ministry aimed at advocating for the truth of creation and debunking the theory of evolution. His influential seven-part Creation Seminar has garnered acclaim and continues to be presented worldwide, translated into thirty-two languages, fostering belief and outreach among diverse audiences. His work remains a significant contribution to the dialogue between science and faith.
