James Boss
James Boss, the oldest of two siblings, was born in Hollywood, California, and grew up in Hacienda Heights, California, in a family of Korean American heritage, with parents Sun Kim and Young W. Kim.
He commenced his martial arts journey at the tender age of six. Following his high school graduation, he enrolled at The Art Institute of Los Angeles, where he pursued a degree in graphic design. His passion for performance led him to study acting at the Howard Fine Studio, and he later honed his skills under the guidance of Ivanna Chubbuck. Seeking to deepen his theatrical expertise, he moved to South Korea to attend the Seoul Institute of the Arts. In 2011, he garnered critical acclaim for co-directing his debut play, "Liar Reversal."
In 2010, Boss not only starred in but also directed the international release of "White Wall," a post-apocalyptic action film set in a dystopian world. Between 2012 and 2017, he wrote, directed, and acted in three short films that earned nominations and accolades at numerous prestigious film festivals worldwide. Balancing his career between the South Korean and Hollywood film industries, he has gained recognition for his independent approach to filmmaking and music video production.
