Marianne Shine
Marianne Shine is a multifaceted talent known for her work as both a Drama Therapist and an actress. Born to a Danish mother and a Hungarian father, she is a first-generation American who grew up in New Jersey. Her family has a strong artistic lineage; her brother, Christopher Heltai, is also an accomplished actor, while her cousin, Yasmina Reza, has gained international acclaim as a playwright in Paris.
Marianne now resides in the Bay Area, where she continues to nurture her passion for the performing arts. Her two sons are also making their mark in the entertainment industry: Cooper Shine works as a cinematographer in Los Angeles, while Sawyer Shine is an actor based in the same city.
In addition to her acting career, Marianne dedicates her time to drama therapy, particularly through her involvement with the Marin Shakespeare Company's Social Justice Program, where she leads "Shakespeare Behind Bars" at San Quentin Prison. Marianne also maintains a private practice and is represented by Stars the Agency.
An innovative creator, she has developed one-woman shows performed at StageWerx and participates in storytelling competitions with The Moth. Her upcoming appearance in the three-part documentary "Scouting for Girls," which explores the modeling industry in 1980s Paris, is set to showcase her diverse talents on a broader stage.
