Jeffrey Michael Tambor, born on July 8, 1944, is a celebrated American actor and comedian renowned for his memorable roles across television and film. His career took off with his portrayal of Jeffrey Brooks, the uptight neighbor in the sitcom The Ropers (1979–1980). He gained further acclaim as Hank Kingsley on The Larry Sanders Show (1992–1998) and is particularly recognized for his dual roles as George Bluth Sr. and Oscar Bluth in the critically acclaimed series Arrested Development (2003–2006, 2013, 2018–2019). Tambor's performance as Maura Pfefferman in Transparent (2014–2017) earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards out of three nominations, as well as a Golden Globe in 2015 for the same role.

In film, his impressive repertoire includes roles such as Jay Porter in ...And Justice for All (1979), Jinx Latham in Mr. Mom (1983), and Sully in There's Something About Mary (1998). He also portrayed Mayor Augustus Maywho in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), Tom Manning in Hellboy (2004) and its sequel, and Sid Garner in The Hangover trilogy (2009–2013).
