Roberto Camardiel Escudero (November 29, 1917 – June 15, 1989) was a renowned Spanish theatre director and actor, born in Alagón, Zaragoza. His extensive career in the performing arts began in the early 1960s, when he gained recognition for his performances in notable productions such as "Culpables" and "Bajo el cielo andaluz" (1960), both directed by Arturo Ruiz-Castillo and featuring the celebrated singer Marifé de Triana.

In 1964, Camardiel was honored with the Premio Nacional a la Mejor Interpretación Principal Masculina for his outstanding performances in "Isidro Labrador," directed by Rafael J. Salvia, and "Piedra de toque," directed by Julio Buchs. The award was presented to him by the Spanish minister D. José Solís Ruiz, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey.

Throughout his career, Camardiel also appeared in "El Cristo del Océano" (1971), a film directed by Tito Fernández, based on the work of Anatole France. The film featured a star-studded cast, including Nino del Arco and Pilar Velázquez. Camardiel's contributions to Spanish theatre and film have left a lasting impact, celebrating his legacy as a talented actor and director until his passing in Zaragoza in 1989.
