Shawn Corey Carter, widely recognized as Jay-Z, was born on December 4, 1969. He is a prominent American rapper, record producer, and business mogul.
Jay-Z established and currently chairs the entertainment organization Roc Nation, and he served as the president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings from 2004 to 2007. With more than 140 million records sold worldwide, he ranks among the top-selling music artists globally. His accolades include 24 Grammy Awards, making him, alongside Kanye West, the rapper with the most Grammy wins to date. Jay-Z made history as the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and is also noted as the first living solo rapper to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2013, Time magazine recognized his influence by featuring him in its list of the "100 Most Influential People in the World." Through his artistic and entrepreneurial ventures, Jay-Z has left an indelible mark on the music industry and popular culture.
