Laura Innes

Laura Elizabeth Innes, born on August 16, 1957, is a distinguished American actress and television director. She is best known for her iconic portrayal of Dr. Kerry Weaver on the acclaimed NBC medical drama ER, a role she inhabited from 1995 to 2007, returning briefly for the show's final season in 2009. Innes's compelling performance garnered her three nominations for the prestigious Primetime Emmy Award. Additionally, she showcased her talent as Sophia in the NBC thriller series The Event, which aired from 2010 to 2011.

Innes's passion for the performing arts was nurtured from a young age by her father, who frequently took her to the renowned Stratford Festival in Canada. This early exposure inspired her to pursue a theater degree at Northwestern University, where she honed her craft.
