Tian Liang (田亮) embarked on his diving journey at just seven years old, showcasing remarkable talent and dedication. By the age of 13, he was selected for the National Team in 1993, quickly earning the moniker "child prodigy" as he emerged as a leading figure in the 10-meter platform diving category. His diving style was characterized by explosive power, dynamic movements, and impressive agility.

Tian made headlines in 1994 when he secured his inaugural National title in the 10-meter platform event. His prowess continued to shine, culminating in a stunning performance at the 1998 World Championships, where he won the gold in synchronized diving and claimed silver in the individual event. The pinnacle of his diving career came at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where he triumphed in the 10-meter platform event, scoring 101.52 points—the highest ever recorded for a single dive in Olympic history. Alongside partner Yang Jinghui, he also earned a silver medal in the men’s synchronized diving event. Tian added to his accolades in 2004 at the Athens Olympics, winning another gold in synchronized diving and a bronze in the individual competition.

Beyond his athletic success, Tian has ventured into the entertainment industry, becoming a beloved figure in China. He has appeared in several films, including "A Beautiful Life" (2011) and "The Fantastic Water Babies" (2010), and has collaborated with his wife, Ye Qian, in music videos. His autobiography recounts his illustrious career, and despite stepping back from competitive diving, his charm and sunny disposition have made him a household name. Tian and Ye are now parents to two children, and their family life remains a focal point of his public persona.
