Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen is a prominent Finnish musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, screenwriter, and record producer, renowned as the founder and driving force behind the symphonic metal band Nightwish. Born on December 25, 1976, Holopainen’s musical journey began with influences from jazz and classical genres, though he draws significant inspiration from the emotive qualities of film scores.

In addition to his work with Nightwish, which has achieved international acclaim, Holopainen has contributed to other musical projects, such as bands Nattvindens Gråt and Darkwoods My Betrothed. He is also involved in the gothic metal group For My Pain… and collaborates with Timo Rautiainen.

Holopainen's talents extend beyond traditional music creation; he has penned several tracks for film soundtracks. Notably, he collaborated with Nightwish's bassist and male vocalist Marco Hietala on "While Your Lips Are Still Red," featured in the Finnish movie Lieksa! in 2007.
