Henky Solaiman

Ong Hian Kie, widely recognized as Henky Solaiman, was a prominent Indonesian actor, director, and screenwriter of Chinese heritage, born on August 30, 1941. He made a lasting impact on Indonesian cinema and television until his passing on May 15, 2020, at the age of 78. Henky's contributions to the film industry began in the 1970s, and he quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest character actors in the country.

Henky's artistic journey commenced in theater, where he honed his craft before making his film debut in the 1971 production "Wadjah Seorang Laki-Laki," directed by Teguh Karya. Over the years, he became a familiar face in the industry, featuring in notable films such as "Pengkhianatan G30S/PKI" (1984), "Ca Bau Kan" (2002), and "Love for Sale" (2018). In addition to his film work, he also excelled in television, often embodying paternal or wise elder roles that resonated with audiences.

Despite his declining health due to cancer, Henky Solaiman's dedication to his craft remained evident throughout his life.
