Vladislav Dvorzhetsky (April 26, 1939 – May 28, 1978) was a prominent Soviet actor known for his impactful performances in cinema. Born in Omsk, he began his journey in the military medical field, enrolling in the Omsk military medical school in 1955. After completing his studies, he served in the Soviet Army on Sakhalin Island, where he also experienced his first marriage.

In 1964, Dvorzhetsky returned to Omsk to pursue his passion for acting, enrolling in the local actors' school. Graduating in 1967, he joined the Omsk provincial dramatic theatre, where he married for a second time. His film career took off when he caught the attention of an assistant director from Mosfilm, leading to his debut role as General Khludow in "The Flight" (1970).

Dvorzhetsky gained further recognition for his portrayal of test pilot Burton in Andrei Tarkovsky's "Solaris" (1972). His role as Alexander Ilyin in "Sannikow-Land" (1972) and as the communist Yaroslav in "To the Last Minute" (1974) solidified his status, earning him the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1975, he starred as the titular character in "Kapitän Nemo," inspired by Jules Verne's classic.

His performance as Saint Antonius in 1976 captivated audiences, marking a career pinnacle. Tragically, Dvorzhetsky's life was cut short by acute heart failure in 1978, following a series of health issues exacerbated by his demanding lifestyle. His legacy continues to resonate in the world of Soviet cinema.
