Alan O'Silva
Alan O'Silva began his artistic journey in 1994 in his quaint mountain hometown near Transylvania, where a chance encounter with a girl led him to the local youth theatre, Ariel, directed by Geny Migleczi, who would become a significant mentor in his career. Within hours of his introduction, Alan made his stage debut in the theatre's evening performance. Just a month later, he landed a lead role in the acclaimed Greek tragedy 'The Danaides,' directed by the renowned Silviu Purcarete. This production toured internationally for three and a half years, garnering numerous accolades at prestigious theatre festivals, including the Edinburgh International Festival and the Lincoln Center Festival in New York.
Afterward, Alan pursued a Master of Drama at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he honed his skills in both classic and contemporary performance mediums, including radio, television, and film. His one-man show, 'Fish On Dry Water,' which he wrote, directed, and performed, received critical praise, earning four out of five stars at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In television, Alan gained recognition for portraying the main suspect in the esteemed detective series 'Taggart,' which sparked his enduring passion for cinematography. He has since appeared in numerous films, TV series, and commercials, while still cherishing his theatrical roots, returning to the stage to play Cassio in Shakespeare's 'Othello,' directed by the acclaimed Andriy Zholdak.
