Saraya Bevis
Saraya-Jade Bevis, born on August 17, 1992, is a prominent English professional wrestler celebrated for her dynamic career in both All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Under the ring name Saraya in AEW and Paige in WWE, she has made an indelible mark in the wrestling world. Bevis notably became the youngest female champion in WWE history, clinching the Divas Championship twice and becoming the inaugural NXT Women's Champion. Additionally, she made history by being the first woman to simultaneously hold both WWE and NXT Women's Championships, and she later won the AEW Women's World Championship.
Bevis began her wrestling journey at the tender age of 13, debuting as Britani Knight for her family's promotion, World Association of Wrestling (WAW). She quickly gained recognition on the European independent circuit and was signed by WWE in 2011. After debuting in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2012, she ascended the ranks, surprising fans with her main roster debut in 2014, where she captured the Divas Championship almost instantly.
Her career faced challenges due to injuries, leading to her retirement in 2018 after undergoing multiple surgeries. However, she remained active in the wrestling community, contributing to WWE programming until her departure in July 2022. Shortly after, Bevis joined AEW, debuting at Grand Slam as the leader of The Outcasts. In a triumphant return, she secured the Women's World title at All In in London.
In addition to her wrestling achievements, Bevis's life story was featured in the documentary "The Wrestlers: Fighting with My Family," which inspired the 2019 film of the same name, starring Florence Pugh. Her contributions to wrestling earned her numerous accolades, including ranking No. 1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Female 50 in 2014 and being named Diva of the Year by Rolling Stone the same year.
