Alison Sealy-Smith, born in 1959 in Bridgetown, Barbados, is a distinguished Canadian actress celebrated for her portrayal of Storm in various Marvel animated series. Raised in Toronto, she pursued her education at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, where she earned a scholarship to study psychology.

Sealy-Smith is the visionary founder of Obsidian Theatre, a company dedicated to showcasing African-Canadian narratives. Her talent has been recognized with a Dora Mavor Moore Award for her outstanding performance in Djanet Sears' acclaimed play, Harlem Duet, in 1997.

Her extensive career in film and television includes roles in notable series such as Street Legal, This is Wonderland, and The Line, as well as a recurring character on Kevin Hill. She also appeared in the 1998 film My Date with the President's Daughter. In addition to her live-action work, she lent her voice to characters in animated series, notably as Storm in the iconic 1990s X-Men and as Scarlett in Teletoon's Delilah and Julius.

Sealy-Smith's versatility is further showcased in films like Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Honey, Dark Water, and Talk to Me. Since the mid-2000s, she has been recognized for her role as Ms. Mann in the children's series Naturally, Sadie, and played Nurse Lydia in the HBO Canada series Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures in 2009.

In recognition of her remarkable contributions to the arts, she received another Dora Mavor Moore Award in 2009 for her role as Lena in A Raisin in the Sun. Alison is also the proud mother of actress Makyla Smith.
