Stéphane Sednaoui is a multifaceted French artist renowned for his work as a music video director, photographer, film producer, and actor. His diverse career spans across various media, including music videos, fashion photography, and photojournalism, highlighting his adaptability and creativity.
Sednaoui’s artistic journey commenced at the young age of 18 when he began working as a casting director for advertising campaigns and modeling for prominent photographers. By 21, he expanded his portfolio to include portrait photography for several prestigious publications, capturing the essence of designers and models alike. He has directed over 40 music videos for iconic artists, including "Give It Away" and "Scar Tissue" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Sly" by Massive Attack, "Mysterious Ways" by U2, and "Big Time Sensuality" by Björk. His talents also extended to photojournalism, where he documented significant historical events such as the Romanian Revolution and the September 11 attacks.
Sednaoui has exhibited his fine art and cinematographic works in esteemed venues like MoMA in New York and the Barbican Center in London. His contributions to the art of music videos were recognized in 2005 with his inclusion in the Directors Label series by Palm Pictures.
