Eric Hicks
Eric Hicks, born to Crawford, one of the last orthopedic shoemakers in Canada, and Anita, a police officer and tattoo artist, grew up in the picturesque town of Lumsden, Saskatchewan. His diverse heritage includes English, Irish, Scottish, and German roots, which enriched his upbringing.
At just eight years old, Eric discovered his passion for acting while witnessing the filming of "The Garden" in his family home. This early exposure ignited a spark in him, leading to his first acting role in the Jamie Foxx film "Held Up" (Trimark) a year later. Watching Foxx perform and execute his own stunts had a profound impact on Eric, shaping his aspirations as an actor.
Inspired by his experiences, Eric's parents gifted him a camcorder, which opened the door to a new creative outlet. Initially focused on creating outrageous stunts to entertain friends and family, he soon found that filmmaking was a lifelong passion that he wanted to pursue seriously.
Throughout his career, Eric has continued to hone his craft, appearing in various film and television projects while also exploring his interests behind the camera. His journey from a curious child to a dedicated performer and filmmaker stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the arts and the power of storytelling.
