Larry Dann
Larry Dann, born on May 4, 1941, in London, England, is a distinguished British actor known for his extensive work in film and television. His journey into acting began unexpectedly when he was approached at a young age for a film opportunity. At just five years old, he made his cinematic debut in the 1946 film *Adam and Evelyn*, featuring Jean Simmons and Stewart Granger. Early in his career, he worked as an extra before honing his craft at the Corona Stage Academy.
Dann had a notable cameo as a schoolboy in the classic comedy *Carry On Teacher* (1959) and appeared alongside Sir Norman Wisdom in *Trouble in Store* (1953) and *The Bulldog Breed* (1960). He later contributed to the beloved *Carry On* series with roles in *Carry On Behind* (1975), *Carry On England* (1976), and *Carry On Emmannuelle* (1978). His filmography also includes titles like *What a Crazy World* (1963), *All Neat in Black Stockings* (1968), *The Body Stealers* (1969), and *The Bunker* (1981).
From 1984 to 1992, Dann became well-known for his portrayal of Sergeant Alec Peters in the ITV police drama *The Bill*, totaling 227 episodes. He reflected on this experience in the books *Witness Statements: Making The Bill (Series 1-3)* (2020) and its sequel, published in 2022. In addition, he joined the Theatre Workshop in 1962, performing in several productions directed by Joan Littlewood, including the acclaimed *Oh, What a Lovely War!*.
In 2023, he released his autobiography, *Oh, What A Lovely Memoir*, through Devonfire Books, further cementing his legacy in the entertainment industry.
