Rick Macy
Franklyn Richard “Rick” Macy, born on October 18, 1953, is a distinguished actor known for his contributions to films that resonate with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a faith he actively practices. Raised in Oregon, Rick spent his formative years immersed in baseball before venturing to Brigham Young University to pursue journalism. However, after just one semester, he shifted his focus to acting, culminating in a bachelor's degree in 1982.
Macy is notably recognized for his portrayal of Joseph Smith Sr. in three significant films: *Emma Smith: My Story*, *The Restoration*, and *Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration*. His filmography also includes performances in *Brigham City*, *Ephraim’s Rescue*, and *Saints and Soldiers: Airborne Creed*. Additionally, he has made appearances in various other film and television productions such as *Outlaw Trail: The Treasure of Butch Cassidy*, *Touched by an Angel*, and *Divided by Hate*.
One of his most memorable roles was as Helam in *The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd*, where he experienced profound personal growth and spiritual connection during filming in Hawaii.
