Jamileh Sheikhi
Jamileh Sheykhi (Persian: جمیله شیخی; April 30, 1930 – May 23, 2001) was a celebrated Iranian actress renowned for her impactful contributions to both theatre and cinema. Sheykhi launched her performing career on stage in 1957, showcasing her talent and versatility in various productions. Her film debut came later, in 1975, with the movie *Shipwreck*, directed by Nosrat Karimi.
Throughout her career, she became a prominent figure in Iranian film, collaborating with esteemed directors and leaving an indelible mark on the industry. One of her most notable performances was in *Travellers* (1991), a film directed by Bahram Bayzai, which further solidified her status as a leading actress. Her exceptional talent was recognized when she received the Best Actress award at the International Fajr Film Festival, a testament to her skill and dedication to her craft.
