Joonas Saartamo

Joonas Saartamo, born in 1980 in Helsinki, has emerged as one of Finland's most acclaimed actors. A graduate of the Helsinki Theatre Academy in 2012, Joonas's film career began with notable performances in "One-Way Ticket to Mombasa" (2002) and "Beauty and the Bastard" (2005). His talent shone brightly in "Silence" (2011) and "The Mine" (2016), but it was his role in "The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki" (2016) that garnered international attention, earning the film the prestigious Un Certain Regard award at the Cannes Film Festival.

On television, Joonas made his mark in series such as "Pelkovaara" (2004), "Protectors" (2008), and "Welcome To Texas" (2017), with the second season of the latter set to air in spring 2019. He played a significant supporting role in the acclaimed film "The Unknown Soldier," which premiered in 2017 and is expected to inspire a related TV series.

In addition to his acting achievements, Joonas is recognized for his work as a hip-hop artist under the name Jonde, previously known as Alarik. He received the esteemed Jussi Statue in 2011 for Best Male Actor in a Leading Role and has earned two additional nominations in his career. Looking ahead, Joonas is set to portray Richard Wagner in the upcoming film "The Zurich Liaison."
