Herb Alpert, born on March 31, 1935, is a celebrated American jazz musician best known for his work with the group often referred to as Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass or simply TJB. His innovative fusion of jazz, pop, and Latin music garnered widespread acclaim and helped to define the sound of an era.

In addition to his musical career, Alpert is a prominent figure in the recording industry, co-founding A&M Records with his partner Jerry Moss. The label became a powerhouse in music, eventually being sold to PolyGram. Beyond music, Alpert is also an accomplished abstract expressionist artist, with his paintings and sculptures showcased in various public exhibits over the years.
