James Flynn hails from Ireland and embarked on his academic journey at University College Cork, where he earned a degree in English. His passion for the arts took him to France, where he developed a profound appreciation for French cinema, which would shape his creative endeavors.

Driven by a thirst for exploration, Flynn traversed several European nations before co-founding Practicum Theatre alongside two fellow playwrights. This theatre company was established with a mission to showcase the talents of budding writers and directors, creating a platform for innovative storytelling.

After three dynamic years marked by numerous festivals and successful productions, Flynn departed from Practicum Theatre on a triumphant note. He achieved a significant milestone by producing the UK premiere of the acclaimed American play, The Viewing Room, in London’s prestigious West End. This production not only highlighted his ability to bring powerful narratives to life but also solidified his reputation within the theatrical community.
