Marc Baylis
Marc Baylis, born on April 3, 1977, is a versatile British actor renowned for his contributions to stage, television, and film. He honed his craft at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where he was honored with the prestigious Stage Scholarship. Baylis gained widespread recognition for his compelling portrayal of Rob Donovan on the iconic soap opera Coronation Street, a role he held from 2012 to 2014, with subsequent guest appearances in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Baylis embarked on his television career in 2001, debuting as the young Albert Finney in My Uncle Silas. He has since showcased his acting range through various roles in popular series such as Channel 4's Sirens, as well as in The Bill, EastEnders, Doctors, and Hollyoaks.
His significant turn in Coronation Street began on July 9, 2012, when he first appeared as Rob Donovan, the younger sibling of Carla Connor. In June 2014, it was announced that he would exit the show, with his character being written off after receiving a 25-year sentence for the murder of Tina McIntyre. However, in August 2015, Baylis was set to return to the role despite his character's imprisonment. He bid farewell to the character again in January 2016, only to make a dramatic comeback in April 2017, having orchestrated an escape from prison, further solidifying his status in the world of television drama.
