Tamara Taylor, born on September 27, 1970, in Toronto, stands at 5 feet 6½ inches (1.69 m) and is a talented Canadian television actress. She is best known for her role as Dr. Camille Saroyan, the head of the Forensic Division, in the popular crime drama series Bones. Taylor's diverse heritage includes a Black Canadian father and a Scottish Canadian mother, which adds to her unique presence on screen.

In addition to her notable role in Bones, Taylor has appeared in several other television series, including the CBS medical drama 3 lbs, where she played Della, and the UPN show Sex, Love & Secrets as Nina, both of which had brief runs. Her guest appearances are equally impressive, with roles in acclaimed series like NCIS, Numb3rs, Lost, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, Party of Five, and Dawson's Creek.

In the 2005 romantic comedy Diary of a Mad Black Woman, she portrayed Debrah Simmons, and she also had a cameo in Serenity, the cinematic continuation of the cult TV series Firefly, created by Joss Whedon. Interestingly, her involvement in Serenity led her to audition for a role alongside David Boreanaz, who previously starred in Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Taylor made her debut in Bones during the second season's premiere, "The Titan On The Tracks." Initially credited as a guest star, her character's popularity led to her becoming a series regular by the seventh episode, "The Girl With The Curl," allowing her to become a mainstay in the show's title sequence.
