Mayra Leal
Mayra Leal, a talented Latina filmmaker of Mexican and Salvadoran heritage, was born in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Houston with degrees in Communications and Mathematics, which laid the groundwork for her burgeoning career in film, television, and digital media. Her unique perspective and artistry have captured the attention of established producers, directors, and industry leaders, as well as a dedicated fan base.
While Mayra thrives in the entertainment industry, she values her time with family and friends outside of her professional commitments. Presently, she calls Malibu home.
Throughout her career, Mayra has amassed over 32 credits in film and television. She has made notable appearances in various music videos and has showcased her talent in productions such as National Geographic's "Locked Up Abroad in Bangladesh," as well as series like "Revolution," "Southland," and "Memphis Beat." Her filmography includes a role in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete," a starring part in Tom Vaughn's "Playing House," and contributions to "Sanitarium," alongside horror legend Robert Englund and actor Lou Diamond Phillips. Recently, she completed work on "The Wisdom to Know the Difference," directed by Daniel Baldwin, which features a stellar cast including William Baldwin and Elle LaMont. This project has received accolades at several film festivals, earning four best picture awards and securing two nominations for best actor for Mayra.
