Edgar Howard Wright, born on April 18, 1974, is a prominent English director known for his unique blend of humor and genre filmmaking. His signature style features rapid editing, dynamic Steadicam shots, and an inventive use of music that sets a distinctive tone for his work. Wright began his career by creating independent short films, culminating in his feature film debut, *A Fistful of Fingers*, in 1995. He collaborated with David Walliams on the comedy series *Asylum* in 1996, but it was his sitcom *Spaced* (1999–2001) that established him as a creative force, featuring regular collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Wright's breakout film, *Shaun of the Dead* (2004), a clever twist on the zombie genre, marked the beginning of his acclaimed Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, which continued with *Hot Fuzz* (2007) and *The World's End* (2013), both co-written with Pegg. In 2010, he directed the critically acclaimed *Scott Pilgrim vs. the World*, an adaptation of the graphic novel series. He also contributed to the screenplay for *The Adventures of Tintin* (2011) alongside Joe Cornish and Steven Moffat for Steven Spielberg. Although he had plans to direct *Ant-Man* in 2015, creative differences led him to step back. Wright's recent works include the stylish action film *Baby Driver* (2017), the documentary *The Sparks Brothers*, and the psychological thriller *Last Night in Soho* (2021), further solidifying his reputation as a versatile filmmaker.
