Morten Harket
Morten Harket, born on September 14, 1959, is a prominent Norwegian singer renowned as the lead vocalist of the iconic synth-pop group A-ha. The band, which formed in 1982, achieved international fame with their seminal hit "Take On Me" in 1985, a song that propelled their debut album, *Hunting High and Low*, to over 10 million sales globally. A-ha has released a total of 11 studio albums by 2024, including notable works such as *Scoundrel Days* and *Foot of the Mountain*.
Before his rise to fame with A-ha, Harket made a name for himself in the Oslo music scene as the frontman of the blues band Souldier Blue. His musical journey began at an early age; he started composing music and playing the piano at just four years old, influenced by a diverse array of artists from Jimi Hendrix to David Bowie.
In recognition of his contributions to the music industry and his success on an international scale, Harket was honored as a Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav by King Harald of Norway. After a hiatus, A-ha reunited in 1998 for a performance at the Nobel Peace Prize concert and has since released several albums, with their eighth, *Analogue*, achieving significant acclaim.
