Doro Pesch

Doro Pesch is a celebrated German heavy metal singer-songwriter, renowned for her role as the front-woman of the iconic band Warlock. Often referred to as the "Queen of Heavy Metal," Doro has made significant contributions to the music scene and has become a prominent figure in metal culture for over thirty years. Her dynamic presence has also extended to her touring ensemble, which has seen various members come and go over two decades, with bassist Nick Douglas and drummer Johnny Dee being notable constants.

Doro's musical journey began in the underground scene of Düsseldorf, where she played in several garage bands. She gained substantial recognition in the 1980s with Warlock, a band that was poised to make waves in the U.S. market. However, frequent lineup changes left Doro as the sole original member. In response, she launched a solo career under her first name, Doro, to circumvent legal disputes with her former management and record label, PolyGram.

Throughout her solo career, she released two albums in the United States, collaborating with producers like Joey Balin and Gene Simmons. Although these albums did not achieve the success she anticipated, Doro's relentless spirit and dedication to her craft have solidified her status as a lasting icon in the heavy metal genre, inspiring countless musicians and fans alike.
