Jagathy Sreekumar, originally named Sreekumar Achary, was born on January 5, 1951, and stands as a towering figure in Indian cinema, particularly within the Malayalam film industry. Revered as the “King of Comedy” and affectionately known as Nataka Nayakan, he has graced over 1,500 films, making him one of the most prolific actors globally.

Jagathy embarked on his illustrious career in the 1970s, quickly establishing himself as a master of comic timing and improvisation, captivating audiences with his ability to dominate any scene. His versatility allowed him to excel in various genres, from slapstick to satire, and even in dramatic and villainous roles. Some of his most memorable works include classics like Kilukkam (1991), In Harihar Nagar (1990), Yodha (1992), and Kalyanaraman (2002). His performances in films such as CID Moosa (2003), Meesa Madhavan (2002), Udayananu Tharam (2005), and Katha Parayumbol (2007) have left an indelible mark on Malayalam pop culture, with many of his characters and catchphrases still celebrated today.
