Polly Walker
Polly Alexandra Walker was born on May 19, 1966, in Warrington, Cheshire, England. Initially trained as a dancer at the prestigious Ballet Rambert School in Twickenham, Polly's career took an unexpected turn when an injury at the age of 18 prompted her to shift her focus toward acting. She honed her craft at London’s Drama Centre and subsequently joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she began in minor roles before transitioning to television.
Polly made a significant mark on the small screen when she secured the leading role in the 1990 adaptation of Lorna Doone. This performance opened doors for her, leading to her feature film debut in Journey of Honor in 1991, where she played the character Shogun Mayeda. However, it was her portrayal of an English woman involved in an Irish terrorist group in Phillip Noyce's 1992 thriller Patriot Games that truly brought her into the spotlight, earning her recognition for her compelling performance. Walker's ability to captivate audiences has continued to define her career, establishing her as a talented and versatile actress in both film and television.
