Brenda Whitehead
Brenda-Marie Whitehead, originally named Brenda-Marie Cantrell, hails from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Growing up, she often heard tales of her lineage connecting her to the notorious William Clarke Quantrill, adding an intriguing layer to her background.
In 2000, Brenda made her way to Hollywood, where she made her television debut on the popular sketch comedy series MADtv. She appeared in a segment as an Opening Scene Traveler alongside Mo Collins and Christian Duguay, marking a significant milestone in her career. As a longtime fan of MADtv, this experience was particularly exhilarating for her, and she cherishes a signed script gifted by the cast.
Brenda's recent work includes a prominent role as "Lola" in the comedy horror film "High On The Hog," filmed in Galena, Illinois, and nearby locations. She considers it a privilege to share the screen with legendary actors such as Sid Haig, Joe Estevez, and the late Robert Z'Dar.
In addition to her acting pursuits, Brenda co-wrote the screenplay for "Eli Elder" with Jack Snyder and continues to engage in various writing projects. She also plays a vital role as a creative director for both The Wild Bunch Film Festival (TWBFF) and the Sunny Side Up Film Festival (SSUFF), contributing to the vibrant film community.
