Reizl Bozyk, born on May 13, 1914, in Poland, passed away on September 30, 1993, in New York City, USA. Also known as Rose Bozyk, she was a celebrated figure in the world of Yiddish theatre, both in her native Poland and later in the United States.

Bozyk’s most notable mainstream appearance came in Joan Micklin Silver's film "Crossing Delancey" (1988), where she portrayed the meddlesome grandmother of Amy Irving’s character. However, her true legacy lies in her extensive career on the Yiddish stage, where she became a beloved performer known for her comedic roles and captivating portrayals of motherly figures. Beginning her acting journey at the tender age of five, Reizl performed alongside her parents and later with her husband, Max Bozyk, whom she married and with whom she shared a remarkable partnership both personally and professionally.
