Nicholas Soussanin

Nicholas Soussanin, born on January 16, 1889, in Yalta, within the Taurida Governorate of the Russian Empire (now Crimea, Ukraine), was a prominent Russian actor who later made a significant mark in the United States. In 1929, Soussanin married the renowned film actress Olga Baclanova, a partnership that lasted until 1939. Together, they welcomed a son, Nicholas Soussanin Jr., in 1930. Prior to his marriage to Baclanova, he had a son from an earlier relationship. Soussanin's family also includes his granddaughter, actress Lanna Saunders, furthering his legacy in the arts.

Throughout his life, Soussanin navigated the challenges of emigrating and establishing himself in a new country, and he became known for his contributions to theater and film.
