Heather Steadham
Heather Steadham has experienced a diverse and colorful journey through her various careers. Beginning her professional life as a truck-stop waitress, where she served sundaes to travelers, she transitioned into a unique role as a sex education teacher in rural public schools. Heather's writing career took off as she contributed essays to prominent national publications, showcasing her ability to engage with a wide audience.
Currently, Heather is an English instructor at the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, where she shares her passion for literature and writing with her students. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she actively volunteers with the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, supporting fellow writers and nurturing the next generation of authors. When opportunity strikes, Heather also embraces her artistic side as an actress, participating in various theater productions.
Her first foray into film, "Papaw Land," marks a significant milestone in her creative endeavors, highlighting her versatility as a storyteller.
