Goro Miyazaki (宮崎 吾朗, Miyazaki Gorō), born on January 21, 1967, is a prominent Japanese director and landscaper, best known as the son of legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki, a co-founder of the acclaimed Studio Ghibli. Goro's journey into filmmaking was not straightforward; initially, he built a career as a landscaper, reflecting a reluctance to step into his father's shadow.

Hailing from Tokyo, Goro was raised in a creative environment, with both parents—his mother Akemi Ōta and father Hayao—being influential figures in animation. As a teenager, Goro grappled with feelings of inadequacy, believing he could never match his father’s artistic prowess. This self-doubt led him to explore landscape architecture, earning his degree from Shinshu University's School of Agriculture. Goro later made significant contributions as a construction consultant, focusing on the planning and design of parks and gardens.

In 1998, he played a key role in designing the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, which showcases the studio's rich animation history. His leadership at the museum from 2001 until June 2005 solidified his connection to Studio Ghibli. Goro eventually transitioned into film directing, with notable works including "Tales from Earthsea" (2006) and "The Red Turtle" (2016), both of which reflect his unique artistic vision and storytelling capabilities.
