Franklin Latimore (September 28, 1925 - November 29, 1998) was a prominent American actor, celebrated primarily for his role as ‘Dr. Ed Coleridge’ on the iconic soap opera *Ryan's Hope.*

Born into an affluent family with a lineage tracing back to the Revolutionary War, Latimore took a bold step in his youth, leaving home to pursue a career in acting. His journey began in the 1930s alongside his friend Lloyd Bridges, performing in summer stock theater at a playhouse in Weston, Vermont.

Latimore soon made his way to Hollywood, where he signed with 20th Century-Fox. He showcased his talents in several successful films, including *In the Meantime, Darling,* *The Dolly Sisters,* *Three Little Girls in Blue,* and *Shock.* His versatility also led him to roles in television, where he appeared in two notable soap operas: *Ryan's Hope* and *Guiding Light.* In addition, he contributed to PBS, featuring in a documentary about the Civil War.

In his personal life, Latimore was married to Rukmini Sukarno, an opera singer and daughter of Indonesia's first President, Sukarno. They had a son, Chris Kline, who has made a name for himself as a journalist.

Latimore passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 72. His ashes were interred beneath an old apple tree on his family's estate in Vermont, a serene resting place reflecting his rich heritage.
